A progressive approach to mental health

Welcome to The Hypno Clinic, where we take a progressive and effective approach to mental health.

The relationship you have with yourself determines the quality of your life. The biggest factor inhibiting your own happiness is the continuation of a belief, habit or behavior that doesn't serve you, leading you down a path of depression, anxiety, stress or anger.

Here at The Hypno Clinic we seek to explore underlying motives as an approach to your healing.

Hypnotherapy is an evidence-based therapy in the dynamic psychology field. It puts the client in a relaxed state allowing highly focused attention and heightened suggestibility to enter your cognitive patterns through the “back door” of consciousness.

It specifically targets and brings awareness to the cognitive patterns or the process being run at an unconscious level in order to get in to what we therapist’s call the problem space- essentially, think of it as a “how do you do that?” type view.

Hypnotherapy allows positive suggestions and focused attention to enter your unconscious mind, cleverly eliciting resources the you have hidden away while in a deeply relaxed state. In our sessions we aim to seek out and identify any gaps you may have in your awareness and break them down into smaller components.

Frequently asked questions

Does Hypnosis work?

Yes, Hypnosis is reported to have a success rate of 93% compared to its psychotherapy counter parts according to Forbes magazine. In 1970 a groundbreaking meta-analysis of hypnosis research studies was conducted by Alfred A. Barrios, which led to the mainstream acceptance of hypnosis as an extremely effective form of therapy. He found that hypnotherapy had a massive 93% success rate after only 6 sessions compared to only a 72% success rate with behavioral therapy (after 22 sessions on average), and only 38% success rate with psychotherapy (after an average of 600 sessions). This led him to conclude that for changing habits, thought patterns, and actual behaviour hypnosis was not only the most effective method, but that it needed less time / sessions than any other type of therapy. What happens when under hypnosis?

The feeling while receiving hypnotherapy can be very easily linked to that in between stage of not sleep but not awake. You will feel relaxed enough to not need to move but alert enough for you to be aware of your surroundings.

Am I still in control while under hypnosis?

Yes, you are completely in control and I cannot make you do or say anything that you wouldn’t normally.

Can you uncover trauma from the past that I have forgotten about?

No, it is not considered ethical to recall memories from the past under hypnosis that you can’t recall while in an alert state. And for this reason I will not take you back into any traumatic event you aren’t aware off in day to day conversation.

Do you use scripts?

No, I believe your issues are unique to you and give each client I see a tailored approach. You will not be hearing and experiencing the same thing each session.

Thank you, thank you, thank you! Honestly, after seeing various therapists, Jessica is the only one who has "got me". Her understanding of depression is second to none and has really helped my progression. I no longer let it take control of me. So again, thank you Jess!
